This session is dedicated to contributions to actual clinical practice (be it diagnostic or therapeutic management of patients) based on mathematical modelling tools. Examples from applications could concern Glucose-insulin modelling for diabetes, cardiocirculatory modelling for trauma support, ventilatory modelling for anesthesia, mechanical modelling for orthopaedics prostheses and so on. An ideal presentation should combine non-trivial mathematical tools and real-life medical applications. Emphasis will be placed on formal rather than computatinal aspects (more of biomethematics than biocomputing) even though it is clear that the actual application of mathematics to clinical practice must invariably pass through numerical implementation of algorithms.
