SCSC Call for Papers Modeling and Simulation of Inventory & Materials Management Systems Workshop/Paper Track at the Summer Computer Simulation Conference
Chairs: Prof. Adriano Solis, York University, Canada
Deadlines for papers submission
Track Description The design, operation, and improvement of inventory and materials management systems present many challenges for both practitioners and researchers. The formulation of policies and controls for determining what levels of inventory should be maintained, as well as when and in what quantities replenishments should be made, is made complex by a multitude of factors that occur in a manufacturing or service organization and its supply chain. Likewise, amongst others, the application of automation in warehousing and in-plant materials handling presents significant opportunities for the application of M&S.
This track offers the possibility for researchers in the academic, manufacturing/service, and public sectors to present findings on the many aspects of or concerns in inventory and materials management systems, including (but certainly not limited to):
· Multi-item/multi-location/multi-echelon inventory systems · Stochastic and/or erratic/intermittent demand · Deteriorating inventory · Time series forecasting in demand management and inventory control · Managing inventories in reverse logistics systems · Automated warehousing/materials handling systems · Optimisation in materials handling systems · Evaluation of pallet management alternatives
Authors are invited to submit abstracts or full papers by February 15, 2013. Only original papers, written in English, which have not been previously published elsewhere will be accepted.
Authors must strictly follow SCSC guidelines for paper submission. |
