Object-oriented approaches, DAE modelling, variablestructure modelling, Modelica notation and other developmentshave pushed the development of simulationlanguages essentially. A key point in these developmentsare hybrid structures and their related topics asevents, event handling, state charts, structural changes, etc. This contribution compares features for modellingand simulation of extended hybrid structures in grownand new simulation systems on basis of classical features? model sorting, event description, event handling,DAE solver, index reduction, and on basis of structuralfeatures ? physical modelling, Modelica modelling, state chart modelling, structural dynamic modelling, visualisation, environment. The comparison of thesefeatures is based on the ARGESIM Benchmarks forModelling and Simulation Approaches, which investigatedifferent model approaches and different simulationtechniques by means of implementations in varioussimulators.
