For an effective global order management, the concepts of RFID and company-wide information brokerage offer promising technological background. This paper will introduce the research project RAN (RFID-based Automotive Network) which develops a new way of collecting and sharing RFID based information in supply networks. This paves the way for new IT-systems, so called Logistic Assistant Systems (LAS), which use this new real-time process information for improving decision support. This article describes a simulation-based decision-support system based on real-time RFID event information from the supply chain.
