Francesco Longo

As the Scientific Responsible of the MSC-LES Lab, Prof. Francesco Longo is at the forefront of the R&D activities to drive the lab innovations and providing his experiences and backgroung to run properly the projects, the conferences organization as well as all the other Lab activities.

Currently Associate Professor at University of Calabria (where he is part of the Industrial Engineering group), with a background in Modeling & Simulation as well as VR, AR and MR applied to different sectors, he oversees the development and implementation of the cutting-edge initiatives in which the MSC-LES lab is involved. With a passion for technology and enabling methodologies and a track record of successful R&D projects and publication, Prof. Francesco Longo leads the MSC-LES lab development strategies.

  • 1. Leading Cutting-Edge Initiatives:

    Supervising the development and implementation of pioneering R&D projects, including modeling and simulation, VR, AR, MR and AI applications in Industry, Logistics and Maritime.

  • 2. Strategic Development Oversight:

    Defining and guiding the MSC-LES Lab's development strategies, ensuring a focus on critical areas including Industry 4.0, Smart Operators and Operators 5.0 in manufacturing and production systems, advanced training in complex systems.

  • 3. Management of R&D Projects:

    Successfully managing the MSC-LES Lab's Research & Development projects, ensuring the publication of significant outcomes.

  • 4. Facilitating Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

    Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration within the laboratory and with other academic and industrial institutions.
